What if you needed help and knew where to find it?
Moving…motion…mobile. We are assailed by forces that demand we stay in action, as if constant motion should be our natural state of perpetual bliss. Yet many are dying to slow down or quit this fast paced existence. Should we? Or not, for fear of losing our place in line? Are stop or go our only choices?
Consider moving sidewalks. Moving sidewalks assist intermittently. We are already in motion when we step onto one as they take us from point A to point B. Once there, we step off and can then choose to pause or stop to check our position and reassess the journey, then saunter forward under our own power. This may be to the final destination. Or on to catch the next moving sidewalk, there to carry us further.
resolve to: glide onward
We are most familiar with moving sidewalks in airports. Designed to ease the long trek to distant terminals, we typically think of them as useful tools get us somewhere faster. The concept of sailing past others simply walking under their own steam is an easy concept to adapt to work. Jump on and jump ahead of the competition.

Some years, I hate the holidays. So this year I’m applying my own advice and looking at my abc’s of different for new options and ideas. Here are some different various approaches I came up with for holiday survival under the words for the letters d, f, g, I and m.
different words for holiday survival
disruption: Tap into the residual energy created from the explosive disruption of all things holiday and demands of the season to bring forth happiness and joy.
fractals: Find good will patterns of the past year, then repeat and scale them throughout these holiday times and the new year.
golden eggs: Allow all the geese that lay within your realm to lay their eggs unencumbered by yours or other’s failures of the past and expectations of the future so they will truly be golden gifts of hope.
imperfection: Know somewhere in your desire for the perfect holiday can be found beautiful imperfections that, like shining ornaments on the tree, will reflect the true beauty of the season.
moving sidewalks: Employ the positive sentiments of the season as your moving sidewalk assists to help you create your part of peace on earth and best wishes for the new year!

Best way to spend an evening? Share ideas, stories and experiences with a great group of people. Congratulations to close the gap ca and Planned Parenthood Mar Monte for bringing together great women for a great cause – increase the number of progressive women in the California Legislature.
Here are some stats I learned last nite:
- Women only hold 26% of the California Legislature seats but are over 50% of the population, and that number is declining.
- 57 seats will be open on account of term limits in 2012, which means nearly half the seats in the state legislature will come open in the 2014 or 2016 elections. This is opportunity now.
- Women often wait to be asked to run rather than self nominate. So start asking them.
- Women win elections as often as men, they just don’t run as frequently. Let’s break this pattern.
Why should we have more women in politics? Continue reading
